Maressa Mortimer

My name is Maressa Mortimer, and I’m Dutch. I live in the beautiful Cotswolds, England, with my husband who is a pastor. We have four (adopted) children. My debut novel, Sapphire Beach, was published December 2019. I’m a homeschool mum, so my writing has to be done in the evening when peace and quiet descends on our house once more. I love exploring questions of faith using novels, as it helps me to see what faith looks like in daily life.

Trusting God in the Transition From Campus to Career

From Campus to Career: Trusting God in the Transition Graduation is both thrilling and unsettling. After years of timetables and lecture halls, life suddenly opens into a future without a syllabus. Questions rise quickly: What’s next? Will I find the right job? How do I live out my faith in this new season? The shift from campus to career is more than a change in routine—it’s an invitation to trust God in the unknown. The waiting, the unexpected roles, and even the detours are not wasted. Just as Joseph’s winding path prepared him for purpose, God uses every step to shape us for what lies ahead. Work, then, becomes more than earning a paycheck. It becomes worship. Every report written, meeting attended, or act of kindness offered is an opportunity to glorify Him. And in the midst of uncertainty, community and faith remind us that our worth is not tied to achievements but rooted in Christ. Because ultimately, your career is not just what you do—it’s who you do it for.
